Through the Years
Len, the driving force behind VeloBarZ, has been involved in Sports Nutrition for decades.
He was assigned cook duties during bikepacking Baltics trip in 1980. His job was a huge success and Len’s penchant for an adventurous outdoor cooking was born!
He has planned, calculated, and prepared long-lasting nutritious meals for Backcountry Skiing, Mountaineering, Backpacking, and Kayaking Expeditions.
VeloBarZ iBook was a pre-cursor of the current site and has been around since 2012.
It was designed as a tribute to venerable Italian Fausto Coppi – Len’s aspiration, and Greg Lemond’s Z-Team (the origin of “Z’ in VeloBarZ).
The title itself is a combination of “Velocity” referring both to speedy cooking process and cycling audience, and “Bar” like in energy bar.
Our site is a source of inspiration for all budding home cooking enthusiasts. Since the iBook creation, Len started exploring other avenues, including Baking.
